LTIMindtree Launches Rural Development Initiative in West Bengal.
LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting firm, launched its Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) in the Balarampur Block of West Bengal on December 26, 2024. As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the initiative aims to transform 16 aspirational blocks across India, as identified by Niti Aayog.
In collaboration with the EAGL Livelihood Foundation, LTIMindtree will focus on key areas of development, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure improvements in Balarampur. The inauguration ceremony, led by Chief Sustainability Officer Paneesh Rao, featured the completion of several projects, such as renovated Anganwadi centers and newly established STEM labs at two local high schools.
Among the key initiatives are the transformation of five Anganwadi centers into model facilities for lactating mothers and children, the establishment of free coaching centers at BaraUrma and Chanditala High Schools to assist students with board exam preparation, and the renovation of five local schools. Additionally, the program includes the construction of farm ponds with a 22,500 cubic meter capacity to support irrigation for around 450 acres of farmland.
LTIMindtree, part of the Larsen & Toubro Group, operates with 84,000 professionals across 30 countries and serves over 700 clients globally. The company selected Balarampur for this project due to its tribal population and specific developmental needs, aiming to create lasting impact in the region.
