Maharashtra Plans 300-Acre Innovation City in Navi Mumbai: CM Fadnavis.

Maharashtra is developing a 300-acre ‘Innovation City’ in Navi Mumbai to drive economic growth, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Monday. Speaking at a Nasscom event, Fadnavis said Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran has volunteered to draft a blueprint outlining key features of the project.

With a new international airport coming up in Navi Mumbai, the state aims to develop an entirely new city near the facility. Additionally, Maharashtra is setting up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) park in the region and is in discussions with five potential GCC investors, Fadnavis said.

The chief minister also highlighted recent MoUs worth $20 billion in the data centre sector, with a new data centre park planned for Navi Mumbai.

As part of Maharashtra’s digital and AI initiatives, over 10,000 women are currently being trained in artificial intelligence in collaboration with Microsoft, he added.
