Malayatoor-Kodanad Bridge Remains a Dream.

The residents here dream of taking a ride through the proposed Malayatoor-Kodanad bridge, but the construction work is stuck in a rut.

The bridge was expected to be completed by December 2012. Though the politicians visit the site every week, it looks like the work will not finish any time now, sources said.

'The government commenced the project with a budget of Rs. 14 crore in 2011 but only 30 per cent has been paid. About one year’s arrears are pending. At this pace, the work will be stuck,' they said.

The proposed bridge aims at connecting the Malayattoor pilgrim centre to Kodanad and augmenting the circuit tourism project from Malayattoor to other key sites in Perumbavoor.
