Megha Engineering Secures $379 Million Kuwait Oil Company Contract

Indian engineering major to execute works linked to KOC’s GC-25 and GC-30 facilities in Kuwait

India-based Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has secured a major contract valued at approximately KD117 million ($379 million) from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), strengthening the contractor’s presence in the Gulf’s oil and gas infrastructure market.

The contract covers works associated with KOC’s GC-25 and GC-30 gathering centre facilities, which form part of Kuwait’s upstream oil-production infrastructure. Gathering centres play an important role in receiving production from oil wells and processing and separating crude oil, gas and water before the hydrocarbons move further through the production network.

The award represents a significant international contract for MEIL and highlights the growing participation of Indian engineering and construction companies in large energy projects across the Gulf region.

For Kuwait, continued investment in gathering centres and associated infrastructure forms part of efforts to maintain and expand the reliability and capacity of the country’s hydrocarbon production system.

The project is expected to create opportunities across engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction, potentially generating demand for piping, valves, pumps, instrumentation, electrical systems, structural steel and specialised oilfield equipment.

The $379-million contract further strengthens India-Gulf engineering ties and adds another major overseas energy-sector project to MEIL’s international portfolio.
