Metro waiting for green signal: Sreedharan.

Kochi Metro is ready for inspection by the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety from May 3 to 5 and DMRC is fully confident of getting the safety certificate, the metro agency’s Principal Advisor E. Sreedharan has said.

Speaking at a function where he was conferred with the Valiya Diwanji Raja Keshavadasan Award here on Friday, he said it was up to the State government to decide when to commence the metro’s commercial operations.

Mr. Sreedharan was selected for the award considering his contribution to nation building and his leadership in carrying out metro works in a time-bound manner in different cities.

Mayor Soumini Jain was the chief guest. She said that India needed such personalities who had a long-term vision and excelled in project implementation.
