MoU inked for setting up farm machinery unit.
Telangana government and Tirth Agro Technology Pvt. Ltd. (Shaktimaan), signed a memorandum of understanding for setting up of a centre of excellence and manufacturing facility for farm machinery in the State.
IT and Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao and chairman of Shaktiman Agro Aswin Gohil and other government and company officials were present at the signing of the MoU here on Thursday.
Shaktimaan is the largest manufacturer of farm machinery in India with a market share of 50 % and is exporting to more than 77 countries with a revenue of ₹725 crore in 2016-17. The company proposes to set up a manufacturing facility in an about 200 acres for producing rotary tillers, power harrows, mechanical seed drills, compost shredders and flail mowers, among others and for setting up field demonstration plots, horticulture plots, water harvesting plots and an assembly line for manufacturing.
Hyderabad will be the second manufacturing facility in the country after Rajkot for the company.
THE HINDU
