Naidu to lay stone for Medical Tech Park.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would lay foundation for the AP Medical Technology Zone on a 270 acre site at Nudupuru near Pedagantyada here on August 19.
This is the technology park exclusively for manufacture of medical equipment and first in the country. Medical equipment manufactured in this technology park would bring relief to patients since they would be available at a lower cost, Principal Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah said after visiting the site meant for foundation laying function on Wednesday. At present 70 per cent of the medical equipment is being imported and at a higher cost.
Since this is the only medical technology park in the country several industrialists were showing interest to set up units here. These industries would provide a large number of jobs to the locals, she said.
She discussed arrangements to be made for foundation laying ceremony with Collector Pravin Kumar, CEO of AMTZ Jitendra Sharma, Vice-Chairman of VUDA T. Baburao Naidu, Joint Collector J. Nivas, and GVMC Commissioner Harinarayanan at the site.
VUDA would build an arch, provide a plaque and lay an 80-feet road for the function with funds to be given by the Medical and Health Department.
After laying foundation for the medical technology park, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu would meet 200 entrepreneurs interested to set up industries in the park at the Ukkunagaram Club of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
