New Chandigarh to have green trails, water front.

Located in close proximity to Chandigarh, Mullanpur, which was recently rechristened as New Chandigarh, will soon have a 'green necklace of nature trails, bicycle paths and water front' to ensure it finds a place among the planned cities in the world. Also, it will have road grids on the lines of the City Beautiful.

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal recently gave in-principle approval to a presentation given by a multinational architecture and engineering firm that has been hired to plan the entire city, including its layout, landscape and development.
