New Horizons to set up Knowledge Horizons in India
New Delhi: New Horizons India Ltd, a joint venture of New Horizons Worldwide and the Shriram Group, has announced that it has set up a new strategic business unit ‘Knowledge Horizons’ to deliver innovative, customised knowledge products and services for the student community in India.
The company will invest Rs 100 crore in the new venture to set up 150 centres across the country in next three years.
‘Knowledge Horizon’ will focus on two areas — coaching classes for CBSE Std IX to XII, coaching for engineering and IIT entrance exams and providing teaching aids for schools.
Research indicates a high dissatisfaction among students, parents and even teachers regarding the quality and impact of tuition classes in India, said Mr Ajay K. Sharma, President and Chief Executive Officer, New Horizons India Ltd.
“Leveraging our success in delivering systematic course-led IT training, we hope to bring new levels of professionalism into the business of coaching students in India — provide supplementary education focussed not only at building academic prowess but also at overall personality development,” he added.
