New power substation inaugurated at Hari Nagar in Delhi.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently inaugurated one of the biggest power transmission projects in the National Capital Region. The 400 KV power sub-station has come up at Harsh Vihar in East Delhi.

While inaugurating the power station Mr. Jaitley said that it would be a landmark in making East and North East Delhi a power cut free zone.

'With this power station, people in East Delhi will not have to face any more power woes,' Mr. Jaitley said.

He further added that Government of India is formulating policies so that coal blocks would be allocated to the power generating companies and they in turn may provide cheap electricity to the consumers.

Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, Member of Parliament from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari, were also present at the event.

Mr. Goel said: 'The Government of India ensured that the clearance required for completing this project was made available without any delay. With the commissioning of this Substation and on completion of some other power projects, inverters and generators will not be required anymore in East Delhi.'
