NGT clearance for city project.

The New Delhi-based National Green Tribunal (NGT) has delivered a landmark judgment on grant of environmental clearance (EC) for projects that had commenced without getting the clearance certificate. The order lays out a procedure for obtaining the clearance through an expert panel report.

According to a press release, SSM Builders and Promoters has complied with that process and the NGT has issued the EC. The NGT, in its order on April 22, had directed the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (Tamil Nadu) to issue the EC to the company for the SSM Nagar Housing Complex project at Perungalathur, the release added.
