NH-24 widening to start in 2 months: VK Singh.

Ghaziabad MP and Union minister V K Singh said recently proposal to widen NH-24 and NH-58 has been successfully passed by the Union surface transport ministry.

He said work on widening NH-24 is set to commence within two months, after modalities over its model of financing and issues pertaining to the tendering process are successfully ironed out. 'The proposal to widen NH-24 into 16 lanes, from UP Gate to Hapur, has been approved. Work is set to begin on it within two months. Approval has also been granted for widening of NH-58. However, there are a few nagging problems. In the Meerut division of the highway, there are some portions of the proposed alignment corridor that are stuck over issues of compensation for the land acquired. Though NHAI already possesses the land, work can commence on it only after compensation issues are amicably settled,' said Singh.

The minister highlighted infrastructure works that were undertaken in Ghaziabad over the past year in coordination with the central government.
