Nivedita Setu completes first year of operations

Kolkata: The Second Vivekananda Bridge, named Nivedita Setu, which completed its first year of operations on July 4, has won an Award of Excellence from the American Segmental Bridge Institute USA.

The bridge built on public private partnership was completed within 39 months, a record of sorts for a project of this sort. On July 4 this year, the bridge carried 14,931 vehicles compared with 6741 vehicles on the day it opened to traffic last year.
