NTPC Limited initiates site assessments in four States for proposed nuclear plants.

NTPC Limited has begun site selection studies in four states - Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh  for proposed nuclear power projects under its long-term plan to develop 30 GW of nuclear energy capacity.

According to the company’s post-earnings presentation, the initiative forms part of NTPC’s broader energy diversification strategy as it expands beyond thermal and renewable power generation.

The state-run power major plans to establish nuclear projects across at least 14 states with investments running into lakhs of crores. The proposed expansion is aimed at supporting the Centre’s target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047.
