Omani pipe manufacturer wins L&T order.

Omani pipe manufacturer TMK Gulf International Pipe Industry (TMK GIPI) has won an order to supply Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Hydrocarbon (Oman branch) with 1,400 tonnes of 3LPE coated line pipes for the Yibal GGP third stage depletion compression gas project.

The 3LPE coating system is a multi-layer coating structure comprising three coating materials of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE), copolymer adhesive and PE or PP top coats for steel pipe anti-corrosion.

TMK Gulf International Pipe Industry (TMK GIPI), a subsidiary of global pipe manufacturer TMK, was established in Oman in 2007. It claims to be the first manufacturer of high pressure steel line pipes and casing pipes in Oman, and the first mill in Middle East and North African (MENA) region, to manufacture high pressure 24-inch electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes.
