Patanjali to invest Rs. 1200 crore in Assam.
What is being seen as the first big ticket investment of the four month old BJP led government in Assam, Patanjali will invest Rs. 1200 Crore to set up unit which will manufacture personal care product and kitchen staples.
Principal secretary industry and commerce department, Ravi Capoor told ET, “ We have inked an agreement with Patanjali where the coming will invest close to Rs. 1200 Crore for setting up a unit in Balipara in Assam.”
The unit will manufacture whole range of products which Yoga guru Baba Ramdev led company manufacturers. Assam facility will come up in 120 acre area.
Patanjali Ayurveda has huge range of consumer products brand with products ranging from kitchen staples, nutrition, cosmetics to personal care products.
Already Patanjali Trust of Yog is working in Bodoland’s Chirang district and expected to roll out dairy products from the area.
Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishna had couple of month back met Assam chief minister, Sarbananda Sonowal and has evinced interest in setting up manufacturing and processing unit of different agricultural and medicinal plants and herbs.
