"UCSL Secures Contracts for Building 70 T Bollard Pull Tugs"

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, has secured orders for the construction of three 70 T Bollard Pull ASD Tugs for Ocean Sparkle Limited, a company under Adani Harbor Services Limited.

This prestigious contract with Ocean Sparkle Limited (OSL), a prominent Indian tug operator, was signed by Harikumar A, CEO of UCSL, and Hiren Shah, MD and CEO of OSL. UCSL had previously constructed two 62 T bollard pull ASD tugs for OSL, both of which were delivered ahead of schedule and are currently in operation at Paradeep Port and New Mangalore Port.

Additionally, UCSL had signed contracts with Polestar Maritime Limited for the construction of two ASD tugs of 70 T Bollard Pull, with the first vessel, named 'Konna Star', already delivered ahead of schedule and operational at Deendayal Port, Kandla. The second vessel is currently under construction at UCSL's yard in Malpe, Karnataka. Polestar Maritime Limited has also placed a repeat order for one more 70 T Bollard Pull tug.

Madhu Nair, Chairman and Managing Director of CSL and Chairman of UCSL, expressed delight at being chosen once again as the preferred partner by OSL and Polestar Maritime Limited. Nair emphasized both CSL and UCSL's commitment to delivering high-quality tugs with a focus on sustainable solutions to meet the evolving needs of the maritime ecosystem.
