Plea to open Aerospace Park in the south.

In a memorandum submitted to Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) A.S. Kiran Kumar here, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has made an appeal to consider opening an Aerospace Park in one of the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.

Meeting Dr. Kiran Kumar here, the chamber’s senior president, S. Rethinavelu, and president N. Jegatheesan, said that the trade body was interested in partnering with ISRO in setting up allied industries making polymers, propellants and chemicals. Establishing the Aerospace Park would immensely help such endeavours.

“We also made a suggestion to set up a rocket launching station near the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri in Tirunelveli district, as it will boost industrial development and employment opportunities in the region,” a release said.
