PM Modi Inaugurates NAMO Hospital in Silvassa.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹2,580 crore in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The projects span key sectors, including infrastructure, education, and healthcare, aiming to drive holistic development in the Union Territory (UT).
A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the first phase of NAMO Hospital in Silvassa, a state-of-the-art 450-bed facility built at a cost of over ₹460 crore.
According to an official statement, the inaugurated projects include new village roads, improved road infrastructure, schools, health and wellness centers, Panchayat and administrative buildings, Anganwadi centers, and enhanced water supply and sewage systems.
"Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu is not just a Union Territory but a symbol of pride and heritage. We are committed to transforming it into a model region for holistic development,” said PM Modi.
He also highlighted the positive impact of government initiatives such as One Nation-One Ration Card, Jal Jeevan Mission, BharatNet, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima, and PM Suraksha Bima in improving the quality of life in the region.
Emphasizing progress in education and industrial growth, Modi noted that the UT is home to six national-level institutions, including NAMO Medical College, Gujarat National Law University, IIIT Diu, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, and Daman Engineering College.
