Prosus Eyes 30-Year Investment Horizon in India.

Prosus CEO Fabricio Bloisi has unequivocally reaffirmed India's pivotal role as a core market for the global consumer internet group, placing it alongside Europe and Latin America in strategic importance. "India is critical," Bloisi stated, underscoring the company's existing $9 billion investment in the country and an intent to deploy "many more billions soon."

Bloisi, who brings an entrepreneurial background from founding a Prosus-backed business, emphasized that this experience shapes the group's long-term investment philosophy. "We don’t like short-term… We want to invest for the next 20, 30 years," he articulated, signaling a strategic shift away from rapid exits towards fostering sustained value creation within the Indian market.

Looking ahead, Bloisi highlighted Artificial Intelligence (AI) as Prosus's most significant global bet, with particular relevance and application in India. He envisions AI playing a transformative role in the country, from enabling personalized education for hundreds of millions to powering healthcare solutions in remote areas. Bloisi believes India is uniquely positioned to lead in the real-world adoption of AI, stating, "AI makes the company grow faster and operate cheaper," and likening its importance to that of the industrial revolution.

Prosus's sustained commitment and substantial planned investments underscore India's growing significance in the global digital economy and its potential as a fertile ground for technological innovation.
