Rail bridges at Bijwasan to be ready by August.
The rail over- and underbridges at Bijwasan, which was proposed to ease traffic congestion in the area, is expected to be completed by August this year.
The project was started with funds provided under the 12th Five Year Plan and, at present, 98 per cent of the work has been completed, the South Municipal Corporation said.
The over and underbridges, to be built at a cost of Rs 44.2 crore, are expected to facilitate the smooth flow of vehicular traffic between Najafgarh and Bijwasan in Southwest Delhi.
Satish Upadhyay, the Standing Committee chairman of South corporation, said, “Hundreds of people travelling to areas in Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh will benefit from the bridge. Moreover, the bridges will also help check rail accidents.”
Currently, the rail and road traffic is very heavy in this particular area. The traffic density is improving gradually but it is still very difficult for motorists to cross the railway line due to heavy rail traffic.
