Rail Vikas Nigam Secures ₹284 Crore Contract from East Coast Railway for Odisha Construction Projects
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced on Tuesday that it has secured a ₹283.69 crore contract from the East Coast Railway for construction activities in Odisha, emerging as the lowest bidder for the project. The company revealed in a stock exchange filing that the contract is set to be executed within 24 months.
The scope of work includes the construction of third and fourth railway lines between Jarapada and Talcher Road, along with a new line for the MCRL Inner Corridor Phase-I Doubling, covering 14 kilometers. Additional tasks will be carried out between Jarapada and Talcher Road, excluding station yards related to the third and fourth lines of the Jarapada-Budhapank Project, as well as work between Angul and Balram, which includes yards for the MCRL Inner Corridor Phase-I Doubling.
Established on January 24, 2003, as a public sector undertaking (PSU), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited focuses on developing and enhancing rail infrastructure capacities. The company was awarded Mini-Ratna status in September 2013, recognizing its significant contribution to the rail sector.
