Railway Projects Valued at ₹72,000 Crore Set to Be Launched in Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced recently that the Railway Minister has assured the state government that railway projects worth ₹72,000 crore will be undertaken in Andhra Pradesh.
During a meeting with railway officials and state government representatives, Naidu emphasized the need to expedite the completion of ongoing railway projects. He expressed concerns over delays and directed officials to address any issues hampering progress, particularly regarding land acquisition.
Naidu highlighted the impact of previous government policies on project advancement and instructed officials to implement immediate measures to facilitate timely completion. To enhance efficiency, he proposed the formation of a task force comprising members from the Railway, Revenue, and Roads and Buildings (R&B) departments to tackle land acquisition challenges.
He specifically requested that the Kotipalli-Narsapur railway line be completed within four months and approved the immediate release of ₹20 crore for acquiring 11 acres along the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line. Additionally, he urged officials to commence work on the Sattupalli-Kovvur line as soon as land acquisition is finalized.
Regarding the Kadapa-Bengaluru railway line, Naidu suggested that further discussions are necessary due to alignment changes. He set a timeline for the completion of all ongoing railway projects within three years and doubling works within four years. The Chief Minister emphasized that improved results could be achieved by integrating road, rail, and air networks in project execution.
