Ramboll sells its shares in its jv company with L&T to pursue individual growth strategy in India
Ramboll recently announced that it has sold its shares in joint venture company, L&T-
Ramboll Consulting Engineers Limited (L&T Ramboll) to L&T with no impact to employees.
L&T Ramboll was a joint venture between Ramboll India Pvt Limited and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T)
providing multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy services in the transport sector throughout India.
With this strategic move, Ramboll will pursue its individual growth strategy in India and leverage both
its domestic and international expertise in the transportation sector.
'The sale of our shares will allow both Ramboll and L&T to focus on our respective strengths and will
enable us to grow our businesses in different directions' stated Dr Pawan Maini, Managing Director of Ramboll India.
Ramboll's operations in India began as part of a joint venture with L&T that focused on the transport
sector. Since 2005, Ramboll also pursued its growth strategy in other sectors, and today Ramboll India
employs 750 people working from principal offices in Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai along with
five regional offices across India. Ramboll’s service offerings include Buildings, Transport, Telecom,
Oil & Gas, Energy, Environment and Management Consulting, and in India Ramboll is a market leader
within telecommunications, providing services in tower engineering and the supply of Ramboll designed towers.
