Reliance Consumer Products has launched a new Campa and beverages bottling plant in Guwahati in collaboration with local partner Jericho. Spread over 6 lakh square feet, the facility boasts an initial production capacity of over 10 crore litres for carbonated soft drinks and nearly 18 crore litres for packaged drinking water.
Inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the plant was built with an investment of over ₹250 crore and is set to cater primarily to consumer demand across Assam, Northeast India, and North Bengal. The facility, however, has the capability to expand its supply to other markets based on demand.
The plant will produce Reliance Consumer’s beverage portfolio, including Campa Cola, Campa Orange, Campa Lemon, Power Up, and packaged drinking water under the Independence and Sure Water brands. Equipped with advanced manufacturing technology, the facility features two world-class bottling lines—a 600 BPM (bottles per minute) carbonated soft drink line and a 583 BPM water production line.
“Our operations here will generate new employment opportunities, directly contributing to local economic growth,” said Ketan Mody, COO, Reliance Consumer Products. “This expansion is a key step in our strategy of reviving India’s heritage brands while fostering sustainable development for the region.”
Reliance acquired the Campa brand in 2022 for ₹22 crore as part of its broader strategy to revive legacy brands with strong consumer recall. The company is rapidly scaling its FMCG footprint, recently acquiring the Velvette brand, a pioneer in sachet-based FMCG products.
