RRP Electronics Partners with US-Based Deca Tech for Semiconductor Packaging.

Sachin Tendulkar-backed RRP Electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with US-based Deca Technologies, Inc. to enhance its wafer-level packaging capabilities, aiming to elevate India's position in the global semiconductor industry.

Under this collaboration, RRP Electronics will integrate Deca’s Wafer-Level Chip Scale Packaging and M-Series Fan-Out Wafer-Level Packaging technologies into its operations. This move will enable the company to deliver high-performance semiconductor solutions to customers worldwide.

RRP Electronics specializes in semiconductor assembly and testing, while Deca Technologies, backed by industry giants like Qualcomm, Infineon, and ASE Group, is a leader in advanced packaging solutions. The alliance is expected to be a game-changer for India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.

Rajendra K. Chodankar, Chairman & CEO of RRP Electronics, announced that the company is making a large-scale investment in a Technology Transfer License Agreement with Deca, potentially on exclusive terms, to establish a fully automated, state-of-the-art semiconductor packaging facility in India.

“We aim to complete qualification tests by August and anticipate revenue exceeding $30 million (approximately ₹260 crore) in the second year of operations,” Chodankar said.

Tim Olson, Founder & CEO of Deca Technologies, stated that the partnership would accelerate RRP’s ambitious plans and further integrate India into the global semiconductor supply chain.

The collaboration comes amid RRP Electronics’ massive ₹24,000 crore investment plan, recently approved by the Maharashtra government, to develop a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing and assembly facility. The first phase, valued at ₹12,035 crore, focuses on an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) unit.

Last September, RRP Electronics inaugurated a facility equipped with next-generation manufacturing technology. The initiative is expected to create around 4,000 jobs, boosting local employment and reinforcing Maharashtra’s status as a global semiconductor hub.

As India accelerates its semiconductor ambitions, the partnership between RRP Electronics and Deca Technologies is set to drive innovation, job creation, and technological leadership in the sector.
