Reliance Power to commission Sasan UMPP by Jan 2013

Reliance Power's Sasan UMPP, an upcoming 3,960 MW coal based power plant in Madhya Pradesh.Reliance Power has announced plans to start commissioning it 3,960 MW coal fired Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project in Madhya Pradesh by January 2013. The project is the first domestic coal based UMPP awarded in the country by the Government of India.

Reliance Power said that upon completion the power station will be comprised of six units of 660 MW each. Further, the project will employ advanced supercritical technology resulting in higher operating efficiencies and reduced emissions.
