RLDA Issues Bids for Commercial Development of Railway Land in Visakhapatnam.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory body of Indian Railways, has announced a call for bids to lease land for commercial development at Kailash Puram along National Highway (NH)-16 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

According to the RLDA's official statement, the project will allocate 60 percent of the development to residential use and 40 percent to commercial use. The land, spanning approximately 4.71 acres (19,061 square meters), will be leased for 99 years with a reserve price set at Rs 170 crore. The available built-up area (BUA) for the project is 91,403.31 square meters.

The site, located at Dondaparthi Village, Survey No. 11, Seethammadhara Mandal, Visakhapatnam, features a frontage of about 60 meters. It is strategically positioned next to the Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project District Office, bordered by Defence Land to the north and east, NH-16 to the south, and a secondary road to the west.

The land is well-suited for development due to its proximity to residential areas and educational institutions. Additionally, its location near the proposed Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project's Steel Plant Junction to Kommadi Corridor on NH-16 will ensure excellent connectivity to other parts of the city.

Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, is the largest city in Andhra Pradesh and a rapidly growing port city on the eastern coast of India. The city has seen significant industrial expansion, with major sectors including steel, petroleum refining, and fertilizers.

The RLDA, under the Ministry of Railways, is tasked with developing railway land and focuses on leasing commercial sites, redeveloping colonies, station redevelopment, and creating multi-functional complexes.
