Roots Corp plans to open 10 new hotels

Ahmedabad: Roots Corporation, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian Hotels, which runs Ginger chain of hotels, is planning to open about 10 such hospitality units across the country by the end of this fiscal.

The company started with 11 hotels at the beginning of this year and intend to open between 8-10 Ginger chain of hotels by the end of this fiscal, across the country.

Around 7-8 hotels of the group are under construction across the country, including the one in Surat. The company plans to construct 25 three-star hotels within a span of 12-15 months. By the end of 2008-09 it expect an increase of 30 per cent in room demand.

The Rs 300-crore company has one hotel each in cities such as Bangalore, Pondicherry, Trivandrum, Mangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Durgapur, Pantnagar and intends to open one more in the existing locations by end of 2009-10.
