Rs. 76.54 crore worth Power Projects to Come into Effect.

K C Venugopal MP has said that Rs. 76.54 crore worth projects are to be implemented in the Alappuzha Parliament Constituency for the power distribution system. He said that projects estimated at Rs. 57.54 crore will be implemented under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyothi Yojana and Rs. 19 crore under the Integrated Power Development Scheme.

The MP said that new transformers will be erected at various places, the enhancement of capacity of the existing transformers, modernisation of sub-stations, low-tension and three-phase electric lines will be drawn in various areas.

Renovation of electric lines, establishment of new 11 kv and 33 kv lines, laying of underground electric cables, installing meters in transformers and development of the single-phase line to three-phase line will also be included in the projects, the MP said.

Rs. 10.84 crore is identified for Pattanakkad block panchayat and Rs. 8 crore will be utilised for Kanjikuzhi block panchayat. Rs. 9.62 crore will be spent for Thaikkattussery block panchayat and Rs. 7.87 crore will be allotted to Aaryad block panchayat and Rs. 6.76 crore will be allotted to the Ambalappuzha block panchayat. Rs. 6.74 crore will be allotted to the Muthukulam block panchayat and Rs. 7.69 crore to the Harippad block panchayat, the MP said.

The MP added that Rs. 10 crore will be allotted to Alappuzha municipality, Rs. 5 crore to Cherthala municipality and Rs. 4 crore to Kayamkulam municipality under the Integrated Power Development Scheme.
