Shriram Group and Sanlam to Invest ₹200 Crore in New 50:50 Wealth Management JV.
Chennai-based Shriram Group and South Africa’s Sanlam have announced plans to invest ₹200 crore in their newly formed 50:50 joint venture—Shriram Wealth. The partnership aims to provide wealth management solutions to a broad segment of Indian investors with investible surplus.
Speaking to BusinessLine, Subhasri Sriram, MD & CEO of Shriram Capital, and Paul Brendan Hanratty, CEO of Sanlam Group, highlighted that entering the wealth management space is a natural progression of their over two-decade-long partnership in financial services. They emphasized their long-term commitment to the venture.
Shriram Capital serves as the holding company for Shriram Group’s financial services and insurance businesses. Sanlam, a leading South African financial services company, currently holds a 9.5% stake in Shriram Finance, a 51% stake in Shriram General Insurance, and a 54% stake in Shriram Life Insurance.
