Siemens gets supply order from Namibia

Mumbai: Siemens has bagged an order from Polysius AG, a cement technology company, for supply of electrical and instrumentation equipment to Ohorongo cement plant in Namibia.

The plant, at Otavi, near Windhoek, is scheduled for commissioning by December 2010 and would be first cement unit in Namibia.

Cement produced would be marketed within the country and in neighbouring nations such as Angola and Botswana, Siemens said in a release to BSE.

Siemens will engineer and supply the plant's electrical equipment, which include 132kV gas insulated switchgear, switchyard, power and distribution transformers.
