Sikanderpur flyover opens for the public.

Having missed three deadlines, the three-lane one-way Sikanderpur flyover has eventually been opened for the public.

The 740-m long flyover is expected to improve traffic on Cyber City to Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road stretch. But the litmus test would be soon, the first working day of the week after the opening of the flyover.

Built at a cost of Rs. 16.5 crore, construction of the flyover started in 2012 and it was supposed to be opened for public by September 15, 2014 after having missed an earlier deadline. It was then rescheduled for opening in November last, but it could not be opened due to encroachment on a piece of land near it.

The Sikanderpur flyover is jointly built by DLF Ltd. and Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

It is a part of the 16-lane high-speed road, where eight underpasses are also being built, connecting the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway with the Golf Course Extension Road.

'I really appreciate the Government of Haryana for supporting us in upgrading the infrastructure of Gurgaon. We will surely fulfil the expectations the Chief Minister and the citizens of Gurgaon and Haryana' said Vice Chairman DLF Ltd. Rajiv Singh.
