Speed up Gannavaram airport terminal works, says Ashok.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju recently inspected the work sites of the new interim airport terminal building and parking bays on the premises of the Vijayawada airport at Gannavaram.

During the inspection, Mr. Raju took stock of the ongoing works and advised the officials and the construction agencies to speed up the work and complete both the projects before the Pushkarams.

He also suggested to the officials not to compromise on the quality of work and expressed satisfaction over the progress.

Mr. Raju also asked airport Director G. Madhusudana Rao to review the works on a weekly basis and submit him the reports.

Mr. Raju directed district Collector Babu A. to complete the land acquisition process at the earliest so that runway extension works could be started immediately. The Airports Authority of India has already sanctioned Rs.145 crore for the same.

Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh Ajay Jain assured the Minister of handing over the land by the end of April.
