Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), the exclusive brand licensee for renowned brands like Kodak and Thomson in India, is expanding its digital footprint with the launch of its own D2C website, Shop SPPL. Anticipating significant growth, the company foresees the D2C platform initially contributing 5% of total sales, with potential to rise to 15%.
Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of SPPL, revealed, "We've made substantial investments in establishing the backend infrastructure. Our D2C website will cater to 19,000 pincodes leveraging our 28 warehouses nationwide. Agreements with logistics partners ensure a seamless shopping experience."
Offering a diverse range of products such as televisions, washing machines, air coolers, and air conditioners, SPPL holds brand licenses for five global brands across various categories including Thomson, Kodak, Blaupunkt, Westinghouse, and White-Westinghouse.
Having a strong presence on e-commerce platforms, SPPL aims to leverage its experience to tackle supply chain challenges and meet growing demand. Marwah stated, "Our D2C site addresses stock-out situations and caters to bulk orders. Some consumers prefer direct purchases for added convenience."
Highlighting potential sales loss of 5-7% due to various factors, Marwah expressed confidence in the D2C model, projecting an initial 5% sales share with potential to grow to 15%. The company conducted a successful pilot phase and plans to consider consumer feedback for future expansion, potentially including experiential or demo stores.
