TAFE and ICRISAT Partner to Establish Adaptive Agriculture Research Centre in Hyderabad.

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) has officially partnered with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) to establish the ‘JFarm Adaptive Agriculture Research & Extension Centre’ at the ICRISAT campus in Hyderabad. This collaboration marks a significant step towards advancing agricultural innovation and sustainable practices.

TAFE's JFarm initiative, originally inaugurated in 1964 as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavor, has a long-standing commitment to empowering farmers through research-driven solutions and comprehensive training programs. Over the years, JFarm has expanded its reach, including a facility in Bhawanimandi (2016) and through strategic public–private partnerships. Notably, JFarm established the ‘JFarm and Product Training Centre’ with PJTSAU, Telangana in 2019, followed by the ‘JFarm and Mechanisation Centre’ with VNMKV, Maharashtra in 2023.

This latest partnership with ICRISAT aims to globalize TAFE's vision. By collaborating under the Centre of Excellence for South–South Cooperation in Agriculture (ISSCA), both organizations will work together to foster innovation exchange and drive agricultural development across the Global South. The new centre in Hyderabad is expected to play a crucial role in developing and disseminating adaptive agricultural solutions tailored to the specific needs of farmers in semi-arid tropical regions.
