Tamil Nadu Set to Ink ₹15,050-Crore Investment Pacts With Overseas Companies.

Tamil Nadu is set to sign investment agreements worth about ₹15,050 crore ($1.58 billion) for more than a dozen new projects by overseas companies, a government source said recently.

The agreements are part of a broader investment push involving nearly 100 pacts. The state government said in a newspaper advertisement that it would sign 97 agreements involving total investment commitments of ₹67,452 crore, with the projects expected to create more than 100,000 jobs.

According to the source, the overall investment figure includes commitments from Indian companies as well as expansion projects at existing facilities.

The investment agreements are being signed at the first investment conclave since actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay became Chief Minister in May. His administration has been seeking to attract more investment and expand business activity across the state.

The proposed projects span multiple sectors and are expected to contribute to Tamil Nadu's industrial growth and employment generation.
