Tecom urged tospeed up workon SmartCity.

Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson has directed the Ernakulam Collector to send weekly progress report on the much-delayed SmartCity project even as the government is pressing Tecom, promoters of the project, to speed up the commissioning of the first phase of the dream project.

Thomson visited the project site recently along with senior government officials and held discussions with the SmartCity authorities. He noted that there was a lack of coordination among government departments in the oversight of the project.

No date for the commissioning of the first phase of the project has been fixed yet.
