"Telangana CM Urges Foxconn to Invest in ‘Fourth City’ Project"
Foxconn Chairman Yang Liu met with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in New Delhi on Friday to explore investment opportunities in Hyderabad. Liu expressed confidence in Hyderabad's growth potential, particularly within the industrial and service sectors.
During their discussion, Chief Minister Reddy outlined the state government’s ambitious plan to develop a ‘Fourth City’. This new city is envisioned to drive growth in sectors such as education, medicine, sports, electronics, electrical industries, and skill development.
Reddy urged Foxconn to invest in the Fourth City and promised full support from the state government, including necessary permits and incentives for establishing factories. He also invited Foxconn to contribute to the development of the Young India Skill Development University, a key initiative within the Fourth City project.
In response, Yang Liu indicated that Foxconn would consider the investment opportunities in Hyderabad. He announced plans for an initial visit by a team led by Chief Campus Operations Officer Kathy Yang and India representative V. Lee, followed by a visit from Liu himself.
Foxconn is already committed to building a manufacturing facility near Hyderabad with a substantial investment of $500 million.
