Tenders floated for elevated railway track project in Kurukshetra, work to start in three months.
The Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) floated the tenders for elevated railway track project worth about Rs. 212.73 crore on July 10, 2020, to be developed within the Thanesar city on Kurukshetra-Narwana rail line, said the officials on Wednesday. The works would be starting in the next three months.
Giving information, Thanesar MLA Subhash Sudha said after the works are started the timeline for this project completion is 30 months and under tender process, the pre-bid can be done till 3 pm on 24 July and pre-bid meeting for this project has been called at HRIDC office in Gurugram on July 29.
This project has been a long-pending demand of Thanesar city residents as due to five manned railway crossings on this rail line they face long traffic jams at several points.
On the fourth day of his Jan Aashirvad Yatra before 2019 Haryana assembly elections chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar had performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of this project on August 22, 2019, at Kurukshetra.
MLA Sudha said this project will start in the next 3 months and a tender of about Rs 212.73 crore has been issued by HRDIC. “After the pre-bid meeting, the documents of the bid will be submitted from August 5 to August 19 and the time of technical bid has also been fixed after 3 pm on August 19. Following the companies which will fulfill the conditions, will be entrusted with the responsibility to complete this elevated railway track”, he said.
MLA Sudha said the residents of Thanesar have been long waiting for this development and with the intervention and efforts of Haryana CM this dream project is finally being developed.
As per the information, about 6 kilometers long elevated railway track on single-pillar and of single-line will be developed on the Kurukshetra to Narwana railway line on Pehowa road.
“The timeline of this project is 30 months and the entire process of tendering will be completed from 15 July to 19 August at 3 pm. All the formalities for assigning work to the eligible company will be completed in August only and it is likely that the work of elevated rail track will in September”, said MLA Sudha.
“Once the project is complete, the residents of Kurukshetra city will get relief from five manned railway crossings and there will be no traffic jams. This will keep the city environment clean and beautify the city as well”, said Sudha.
He said the elevated rail track is the first project of HRDIC in Haryana, so work will be done to complete this project within the stipulated time.
