Timken Co gets $16-mn Rlys order

Bangalore: Timken Company has bagged an order worth $16 million to supply Timken AP Class E bearings for use on Indian Railways passenger and freight trains.

Timken has supplied India's rail system for 20 years. The selfcontained, pre-assembled and pre-lubricated Timken AP bearing design reduces maintenance costs, delivers more miles per bearing and improves fuel efficiency.

Timken reported sales of $5.2 billion in 2007 with its operations in 27 countries.
