TN Govt to set up 100 acre exclusive aircraft component park

The Tamil Nadu government is planning to set up an industrial park on 100 acres exclusively for aircraft components manufacturing industries near Chennai.

The state government is also planning to create an integrated aerospace park in the 3,000-acre Perambalur SEZ project. L&T-Ramboll has been appointed as the consultant for marketing assistance.

Some of the measures proposed by the government include securing SEZ status for Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd for its existing limited facility and expansion in Hosur for the development of aerospace park.

It also envisages setting up of a satellite MRO facility adjoining the Chennai airport in an area of around 50 acres. Tidco is in the process of identifying land for MRO facility near Chennai Airport and has requested Sipcot to allocate 100 acres in Sriperumbudur for the component manufacturing park.

L&T-Ramboll has been appointed as the consultant to carry out the feasibility study and marketing assistance. The consultants have submitted the final report to Tidco, according to the minister
