Torrent Group’s Philanthropic Arm to Maintain 69 Lakes Across Two Gujarat Districts.

Torrent Group’s philanthropic arm, UNM Foundation, has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with six civic authorities in Gujarat to maintain 69 lakes across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts.

The agreements were inked with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC), Ahmedabad Jilla Panchayat, Gandhinagar Jilla Panchayat, Kalol Nagar Palika, and Mansa Nagar Palika. The lakes under this initiative cover an area of approximately 20,29,036 square meters.

Jinal Mehta, Director of Torrent Group, exchanged the MoUs with Pratibhaben Jain, Mayor of Ahmedabad City, in the presence of Union Home Minister and Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah during the Startup Conclave 2025 held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.

The MoUs commit UNM Foundation to the upkeep and revival of these important water bodies, aiming to restore natural ecosystems, improve urban environments, and promote community pride, according to an official statement from Torrent Group.
