Toyota Motor keen on more investments in Karnataka.

Takeshi Uchiyamada, Chairman of the Board, Toyota Motor Corporation, recently met Karnataka Industries Minister RV Deshpande to discuss the company’s plans for Karnataka. Toyota Chairman is expected to address SIAM convention in Delhi on Tuesday. The chairman discussed strengthening of ties between Japan and the State. The agenda highlighted the growing Indo-Japanese bilateral ties and the scope for further investments from Japan in Karnataka.

Takeshi Uchiyamada shared the company’s commitment towards skill upgradation and the need for alternate motoring by leveraging Toyota’s innovative and advanced Hybrid technology to reduce emission and fuel consumption, thereby optimising the country’s dependence on conventional auto fuel.

Recent's meeting also reflected Toyota’s long relationship with Karnataka and its commitment to contribute to the growth of the State and the society, by progressively introducing new technology.

Toyota established its Indian presence in October 1997 with the opening of its facility in Bidadi near Bengaluru. Toyota also expressed its keen interest to showcase its investments in Karnataka and share its experience, in the upcoming Global Investors Meet.

In addition, during the session, there was an exchange of views on attracting more Japanese investors to Karnataka. Also the ministry extended their support towards manufacturing of hybrid in Karnataka by willing to consider extension of the tax benefits.

The meeting was jointly held with Kaushik Mukherjee, Karnataka Chief Secretary; K Ratna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department and Gaurav Gupta, Commissioner, Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce.
