TS okays Rs.10,664 crore for road works.

The Telangana government has given administrative sanction for improvement/renewal of roads at an estimated cost of Rs. 10,664 crore.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Minister for Roads & Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao recently.

The works include widening of 260 single-lane roads into double-lane roads covering a length of 2,721 km at a cost of Rs. 3,704 crore and 143 works in 149 mandals with a length 1,996 km costing Rs. 2,585 crore.

Further, construction new bridges in place of 389 dilapidated bridges and un-bridged crossings including construction of bridges across Krishna and Godavari costing Rs. 1,975 crore and renewal of 10,000-km bad stretches with a cost of Rs. 2,400 crore.
