TS to Buy 7,600 Acres for Devadula Project.

Irrigation minister T Harish Rao has directed officials to purchase 7,600 acres under Land Purchase Scheme for Devadula lift irrigation project.

Addressing a video conference with Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam district collectors from the Secretariat recently, Harish Rao directed the officials to acquire the required land on a warfooting for Devadula project so as to provide irrigation water to 63,000 acres this year.

Harish Rao directed the officials to take up SRSP stage-2 DBM canal works on top priority. It was also decided to evacuate the oustees under Yellampalli project.

It was decided to store 10 tmc water this year in Yellampalli project and all the villagers under submerged areas should be shifted to relief and rehabilitation centres.
