Vadodara-Ahmedabad Commuters to Benefit from Faster Travel as Railways Launch Test Run of Vande Bharat Metro.

Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Metro in Gujarat, marking a significant advancement in public transportation in the country. This metro service, the first of its kind in India, will connect Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Trial runs for the Vande Bharat Metro are expected to begin in the coming days, as confirmed by JK Jayant, Chief Spokesperson of Western Railway. The trials aim to improve connectivity and efficiency, particularly following recent upgrades to the railway route between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

In addition to the metro service, Gujarat will see the development of a new 214 km High-Speed Corridor between Tharad and Ahmedabad. Approved by the Union Cabinet with a budget exceeding ₹10,500 crore, this six-lane corridor is designed to boost road connectivity for residents of Gujarat and neighboring states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Delhi. The new infrastructure is anticipated to enhance travel efficiency and connectivity across the region.
