Water Grid Project Within 2 Years: KT Rama Rao.

The people of Telangana will benefit from the water grid project within a year and a half instead of three years as planned earlier, panchayat raj minister KT Rama Rao has said.

He said during a discussion in the Council recently, Rao said areas close to water sources would be the first to benefit.

Stating that the government was apprised of the need for interim measures for drinking water supply to rural areas, he said the rural water supply department was geared to do the needed. He said the government had earmarked Rs. 270 crore for it for the next two years.

Refuting opposition’s charges, he said, 'All they know is earning commissions from such projects. Hence their baseless allegations.'
