Xpheno Launches Centre of Excellence in Udupi.
Bengaluru-based specialist staffing firm Xpheno inaugurated its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Udupi on Tuesday. Co-Founder Airody Kamal Karanth highlighted the firm's intention to shift focus from traditional tech hubs like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune to the high-potential Udupi-Mangaluru region.
The Udupi-Mangaluru belt is emerging as a significant IT talent pool with expanding infrastructure, making it a strategic location for Xpheno’s expansion. Karanth noted that while the region produces over 10,000 engineers annually, many of them migrate to other cities for job opportunities. "Our CoE in Udupi will allow us to better serve our global clients and tap into the local talent pool," he said.
Ethanur Anil, Co-Founder of Xpheno, emphasized the benefits of retaining talent within Udupi-Mangaluru. "By creating compelling opportunities in the region, we aim to reduce the trend of talent migration and enhance productivity," Anil said.
Guruprasad M Thanthri, Head of Xpheno’s Udupi CoE, pointed out the disparity between the number of graduates entering the workforce and the available white-collar job opportunities. “Our goal is to equip Udupi's talent with the skills needed to become industry-ready professionals,” Thanthri explained. The CoE will collaborate with academic institutions to provide students with guidance on essential skills and career development.
Xpheno plans to build a team of 250 specialist recruiters in Udupi, connecting local talent with multinational corporations, global brands, and high-growth startups. The expansion will occur in two phases: the first phase involves recruiting and training 120 professionals, while the second phase will expand the team to 250 members over the coming months.
