Yellow Tie, Harpal to open 200 restaurants, invest $20 mn.

Renowned and unconventional Indian celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, recently, announced opening of nearly 200 restaurants in five formats across the country and overseas by 2019 under the aegis of Yellow Tie Hospitality Management (YTHM), which will invest up to USD 20 million (nearly Rs. 136 crore) in this project.

All these restaurants will come under the exclusive patronage of YTHM, an India-based food and beverages franchise management company, and will be based on franchise model, Sokhi told BusinessLine.

These formats will have offerings on the line up across various segments like fine dining, casual dining and bar and family restaurants.

The investment to be made by YTHM, which had recently roped in Sokhi as the brand ambassador for the Indian launch of American heritage brand Genuine Broaster Chicken (GBC), and also got its menu curated by him, will be in marketing, franchising etc.
